Arlington Heights teen violinist featured on NPR radio program

Arlington Heights violinist Gallia Kastner, 16, will appear on an upcoming episode of “From the Top,” the NPR radio program showcasing the country’s best young classical musicians. It will air at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9, on 98.7 WFMT.

Gallia, previously featured in the Daily Herald’s Suburban Standouts column, performs Tchaikovsky on the episode, which was taped last month before a live audience at Princeton University’s Richardson Auditorium. Gallia attends the Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago and studies under Almita and Roland Vamos.
