Fire destroys mobile home near Barrington

No injuries were reported Sunday in a fire that destroyed a mobile home near Barrington, fire officials said.

Crews responded at 11:53 a.m. to a farm property in the 28000 block of Roberts Road, said Battalion Chief Mark Dierker of the Wauconda Fire District. They arrived to find a "well-involved" fire that had already burned away half a structure, he said.

Nobody was occupying the trailer at the time of the blaze, which was extinguished quickly, Dierker said. The mobile home was deemed a "total loss," he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, Dierker said, noting the side of the trailer where it started no longer exists.
