Those who created problem now seek fix
In your June 1 story on the failure of the Illinois House of Representatives to come up with a solution to the “pension crisis” the writer clearly stated what caused this problem near the end of the story when it said: “It also would guarantee the state pay its share of pension costs every year. Delinquency in doing this over the decades has largely caused the state’s pension mess.”
So these same politicians who didn’t see that pension payments were paid on a regular basis are now saying the retirees (who did pay their pension payments on a regular basis) should get a smaller pension than they are contractually entitled to.
Something is wrong. How do we go about recalling all of them?
