Registration open for July 4th Great Western Freedom 4 to benefit Lazarus House

Registration is open for runners and walkers who wish to participate in the July 4th Great Western Freedom 4 to benefit Lazarus House. The event begins at 8 a.m. July 4 at the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, off Dean Street in St. Charles.
The run is a competitive 4-mile CARA-certified race on a USATF certified course and on the Fox River Trail Runners Circuit. This event also features a 2-mile scenic walk suited for the whole family.
Runners and walkers can preregister at signmeup.com. Preregistration fee is $20 for the walk and $25 for the race until May 30; or $28 from June 1-July 1. There’s a $3 preregistration race discount to CARA and Fox River Trail members. Event day registration is $25 for walkers and $30 for runners.
All participants are encouraged to help their neighbors in need by collecting pledges for Lazarus House. Forms are available with a link from the registration Web page or on the events page at lazarushouseonline.com.
All proceeds benefit Lazarus House, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional living and rental/utility assistance to persons who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless and are connected to St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia or western rural Kane County.
