Libertyville first responders get boost:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, part of the Department of Homeland Security, has made a $17,793 investment to support and improve the capability of the Libertyville fire department to respond to fires and other types of emergencies. The funding, announced Wednesday by U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, is provided through the DHS’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, which since 2001, has provided about $5.25 billion in federal funding to first-responder organizations across the country to help purchase response equipment, personal protective equipment, training, and vehicles.
