A riff on Walsh’s Christmas greeting
I just read Kerry Lester’s article about Joe Walsh petitioning Congress to allow legislators to send Christmas or Hanukkah wishes to constituents using tax dollars.
Wow, what a guy, that Joe Walsh. Will the card read something like this: “Dear …. Merry Christmas and or Happy Hanukkah. Just wanted to send you this personal card and offer that personal greeting.”
However, what about the people who celebrate Kwanzaa at this time of year? Do they get a card? Or the atheists? What will they get? If it’s a tax rebate of $5 to cover the cost of a card and postage, I’m all in on that instead.
I like the words of rock ‘n’ roller Joe Walsh much better:
“Well if I was King I’d sign a proclamation,
And if I was President I’d pass a law,
And I’d call for a full-blown Senate investigation
Of everyone who wasn’t having fun.”
However, Congressman Joe Walsh wouldn’t agree. Too much government intervention.
