Apartment building catches fire in Palatine

Firefighters were battling a structure fire Friday night at an apartment building in Palatine, authorities said.

Fire personnel were dispatched to a building on the 500 block of North Wilke about 8:30 p.m. An official with the Palatine Fire Department said by about 9:15 p.m., the blaze was knocked out but had been a “pretty decent fire.”

Authorities said more details would be available Saturday.
