Village reaches out to tornado victims in Harrisburg
LOMBARD, Illinois—Village President William Mueller announced that Lombard has contacted the Mayor of Harrisburg, Illinois to offer aid in the wake of the recent tornado in the form of equipment and staff if needed.
“We have all seen the newspaper and TV pictures of the incredible devastation due to the recent tornado that has caused both the loss of lives and property to the community of Harrisburg,” Mueller stated. Mueller also indicated that the Lombard Lions Club has been contacted by the Harrisburg Lions Club asking for donations which will be given directly to those in need to ensure that help is funded directly to families of Harrisburg.
"The Lombard Lions are joining with the other 74 Lions/Lioness Clubs in this District and the other 11 Districts in Illinois, to send more than $1.00 per member as a combined effort to the Harrisburg Lions Club to help tornado victims," said Lombard Lions Club President Helen Kay.
"There is a long road ahead and help will be needed as people have time to get back on their feet," said Harrisburg Lion, Larry McGuire.
