Gutted health bill only helps insurers
It is beyond me how the recently gutted Senate health reform bill will "control costs" and "reduce the deficit."
If every American is forced to buy health insurance, the premiums will be allowed to rise up to 300 percent for the elderly and " the sky's the limit" for the rest of us.
The taxpayers will subsidize those who cannot afford the premiums. There aren't even any guarantees to keep the companies from denying care in spite of this huge influx of cash.
It all looks like a government giveaway to health insurance companies who will have no accountability, no true competition, and who will not be required to pay the medical bills of premium payers.
It's obvious that the goal of the obstructionists in the Senate is to do the will of their corporate masters.
The goal is not good health care for every American but the preservation of the profits and million dollar bonuses for health care industry executives, thus ensuring that they will continue to contribute hugely to Congressional coffers.
