Naperville Central rolls past West Aurora

Alyssa Wunderlich took a perfect game into the fifth inning and struck out seven, and Maddi Doane’s two-run homer in the fifth broke open a close game as No. 3 seed Naperville Central rolled past No. 17 West Aurora 9-1 at the Class 4A West Aurora regional.

Doane drove in 4 runs for the Redhawks (23-10), who will play either Lyons Township or Oswego East in Saturday’s regional final.

Downers Grove South 6, Waubonsie Valley 2:Winning pitcher Aleisha Bozek (12-3) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Chelsea Lavin was 2-for-3 and scored a run for the No. 2 seed Mustangs (26-6) at the Class 4A Downers Grove South regional. Amanda Minahan went 2-for-3 for Waubonsie (11-20).Conant 3, York 0:Briana Cavin twirled a no-hitter, striking out 12 for the No. 3 Cougars at the Class 4A Conant regional.St. Francis 17, Chicago Little Village 0:Maggie Remus and Laura Behnke combined for a perfect game for the No. 3 seed Spartans (25-5) at the Class 3A Queen of Peace regional.Glenbard South 11, Chicago Noble Street Charter/Corner 0:Sisters Danielle and Stephanie Chitkowski combined on a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 14 of the 15 batters they faced, at the Class 3A Glenbard South regional. Jenny Wittenberg tripled and drove in 3 runs and Jane Trzaska had 2 RBI for the No. 2 seed Raiders (24-5).
