U.K. Honey bee swarming season seen delayed after cool weather

The swarming season for honey bees in the U.K. may be delayed about four weeks because of cooler than normal temperatures, the British Beekeepers Association said today in an online report.

Winter losses are expected to be “bigger than ever,” the Stoneleigh Park, England-based group said in the report. Swarming season is from April to July and the peak is from early May to mid-June, it said.
