Ride for Kids to help Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
The annual Ride for Kids to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation will be Sunday, July 18. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and closes at 9:15 a.m. The ride leaves at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine, from Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive.
Escorted by local and state police, motorcyclists will ride together to raise money for the PBTF medical research grants and family support programs. Minimum donation is $35 per motorcycle.
The ride will culminate at the college with a Celebration of Life program featuring onstage interviews with local childhood brain tumor survivors and award presentations to top fundraising chapters, clubs, individuals and motorcycle businesses.
Premiums will be distributed and there will be a grand prize drawing for a new Honda motorcycle.
Free coffee and pastries will be available for breakfast and a light lunch will be served at the end of the ride.
Motorcyclists have helped the PBTF raise more than $54 million to find the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors, the deadliest type of childhood cancer.
