Dispose of expired, unused prescription, OTC drugs

Among local towns participating in the Saturday, April 27, National Prescription Take-Back Initiative are Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove. The program provides an opportunity for the public to surrender unwanted, expired and unused pharmaceuticals, and unwanted over the counter medication to law enforcement officers for proper disposal. The collection sites, which are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., include the Arlington Heights Police Department, 200 E. Sigwalt St. and the Buffalo Grove Police Department, 46 Raupp Blvd. The service, which is being offered twice a year, is free and anonymous. Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted.
