District 113 students achieve impressive feats
Dear 113 Community,
At the time of writing, we have just held our graduation ceremonies, back at Ravinia Festival for the first time since 2019.
What glorious celebrations of student achievement and growth as we look forward to all that the Class of 2022 will accomplish in the coming years.
The progression of education from preschool to kindergarten, from first grade to second grade, from middle school to high school, is linear and uniform for all students. Everyone knows what comes next.
Once students arrive at high school, however, we have four short years to help them determine their unique path to their individual, ideal future. Each path is different, and so too is the preparation for those postsecondary plans. After high school, our graduates scatter across the globe: to college, the military, apprenticeships and training, to work. We wish them the very best in whatever path they have chosen and know that they can rely on the skills they gained in District 113 to serve them well.
We pause to take a moment to congratulate our students on all that they have accomplished in academics, through the arts, athletics and activities.
To take a look at the highlights, because space constraints do not allow me to share each and every accomplishment, I encourage you to use the following link to a QR code to look at the many great things and impressive feats our students and staff have accomplished this year.

To give you just a sampling:
• Twenty National Merit Finalists;
• Four National Merit Scholars;
• Two Presidential Scholars.
As summer gets underway, preparations for school year 2022-23 are full steam ahead. I look forward to sharing more news as we approach the beginning of the next school year.
For now, enjoy the relaxed pace of summer and all of its delights.
