Investigation into fire that killed Sleepy Hollow man ongoing
An investigation into the cause of a fire that killed a Sleepy Hollow man at his Carpentersville business Friday is ongoing.
Carpentersville Public Safety Director Alan Popp said the police department is working with state authorities on the investigation. He expected a meeting with them Monday morning, after which he would be able to release more details on what caused the fire and, in turn, the death of Kurt Cina.
Cina owned Trinity Landscape of Northern Illinois, 1050 Tamarack Lane, where firefighters were called to a structure fire shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.
Police and fire officials released few details about the fire over the weekend as news of Cina’s death got out to family and friends. He was the father of six and longtime resident of the Fox Valley.
Services for Cina are pending with Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee.
