Jazz Salon welcomes cabaret performers to Mayslake

A cabaret-style performance of classic love songs will take center stage when Claudia Hommel and Bobby Schiff perform at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook.

The pair headline the Jazz Fauré Project, which blends French impressionism with American jazz. In concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, they’ll perform as part of the “WDCB Jazz Salon at Mayslake.”

General seating for the performance — a joint effort of the PianoForte Foundation, WDCB Public Radio and Mayslake Peabody Estate — is $20, with a reduced price of $18 for students, seniors 65 and older and groups of six or more. Premier seating at cabaret-style tables is $25 per person.

Seating opens at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, call Mayslake Peabody Estate at (630) 206-9566.

Guided tours of Mayslake Hall will be available before the concert at 6:30 p.m. for $5 per person. The tours explore the history of the estate and the restoration projects now benefiting the hall.

Mayslake Peabody Estate is at 1717 W. 31st St., one-quarter mile west of Route 83.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County counts Mayslake among its 60 forest preserves and five education facilities. For information on ways to experience conservation, education and recreation in your area, call (630) 933-7200 or visit dupageforest.org.
