Volunteers sought to help Des Plaines seniors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a component of the Des Plaines Community Foundation, is seeking volunteers to drive senior citizens to doctor’s appointments, and help them with landscaping and other handiwork around the house.

The foundation also has an upcoming fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Cube restaurant and bar at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road. The ticket price is $85, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner. The event includes a live auction. All proceeds benefit senior residents of Des Plaines.
