Arlington Heights man charged with home invasion
An Arlington Heights man faces charges of armed robbery and a home invasion earlier this month in Hoffman Estates.
Jarvis James, of the 3000 block of Lynn Court, was scheduled to appear Saturday in bond court in Chicago.
Police say Jarvis and three other men, one of them armed with a semiautomatic rifle, forced their way into a residence on the 700 block of Bode Circle at 9:43 p.m. April 10.
The men threatened the residents and took several items before fleeing the scene, Hoffman Estates Sgt. Darin Felgenhauer said in a news release.
Police identified one of the offenders as James, and took him into custody Wednesday. He faces three counts of home invasion with a firearm and three counts of armed robbery. If convicted of the most serious charge, Jarvis faces from six to 30 years in prison.
Police continue work on identifying the other offenders, Felgenhauer said.
