St. Thomas More School hosts first McTeacher's Night

On Thursday, March 23, St. Thomas More Catholic School in Elgin held a very successful McTeacher's Night fundraiser at the McDonald's on Larkin Avenue in Elgin.

The St. Thomas More McTeacher's Night was a fun way to bring the St. Thomas staff together and have the opportunity to meet the families of students and members of the community while raising funds for the school. And what a great community the St. Thomas More Catholic School is, as the restaurant was full of families supporting the school.

Teachers Doreen Varley and Missy Craig were behind the counter the entire night. The McTeacher jobs included, greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, serving ice cream, and selling pies.

Preschool teacher Patrice "The Pie" Delaney, as her friends were calling her during the event, dressed in a pie costume for the entire evening. Selling pies for donations!

As a special treat, some members of the St. Thomas More Band came out to perform during the memorable event.

St. Thomas More McTeachers had it all covered, and the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. The school plans to use the money raised to support the school's student counsel.

Special thank you goes to Principal Ann Hawkinson, who organized the entire event as well as everyone that came out to support this amazing event. The staff is an amazing group of women!
