Freezing in center field? That's no fun
Burt Constable missed on one reason suburban kids don't like baseball.
Weather.
The Palatine youth baseball season starts in April and ends by the beginning of July. Even the great, "Let's play two" Ernie Banks would have had trouble loving to play a game on an April evening in football weather.
By the time baseball weather hits the area the season is over for the majority of the kids. The season should start when school ends. Baseball should be played in baseball weather.
