Grayslake C. off to bright start

Grayslake Central’s softball team got its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla., off to a good start Tuesday.

Tayler Janda pitched a complete-game 4-hitter, as the Rams defeated Waunakee (Wis.) 4-1.

Janda, a junior, did not allow an earned run. She struck out two and walked two.

Sarah Kuligowski paced Grayslake Central’s 7-hit attack by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Junior Claire Brennan (RBI) and sophomore Anna Strickland each had a double. Senior captain Beth Caloway contributed a single and run scored for the Rams, who are scheduled to play a doubleheader today.
