Plan now for BG Symphonic Band's fall concert

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band's fall concert on Nov. 7 will celebrate music that depicts some of the heroes, myths, and legends that we all have grown up with and love. Some are well-known - The "Superman March" by John Williams, The Wizard of Oz, Zorro, the Lone Ranger and Camelot.

Some come from other cultures and eras - Mazama (featuring Hiko Hagopian playing a Native American flute, and the percussion section) and the Egmont Overture. Many are old and possibly forgotten friends - The Cowboys of the Old West (Silverado) and the Sea (The Sea Hawk). And still others are legends represented in new ways - The Lord of the Rings.

As the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band prepares to usher in its Gala 10th Anniversary Season, come relive the stories and myths that have excited our imaginations.

The concert is 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Performing Arts Center of Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. Admission is $10 in advance, $12 at the door, $8 at all times for seniors and students with ID. (847) 459-2518.
