Woodland’s Shop with an Educator program
Staff from Woodland Elementary East helped students shop for needy families Thursday at the Target store in Gurnee.
The Shop with an Educator program is part of the Woodland Elementary District 50’s Holiday Food Drive. Woodland Elementary West students and staff had their opportunity to buy items for families in need on Tuesday.
“We are fortunate to have a strong partnership with Target,” said Elementary West principal David Brown, who added the annual event has become a tradition in the community.
The Holiday Food Drive runs through Dec. 13, with items being collected at the various schools. Hats, gloves, mittens, and new or gently used books are also being collected and can be dropped off by a student at their respective school or to the Woodland Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee.
