Search for unclaimed assets:

Illinois residents can search for property or cash that may be held by the state by visiting https://icash.illinois.gov/index.asp. The state currently has $1.5 billion dollars in cash, plus contents from Illinois bank safe deposit boxes, which need to be returned to Illinois residents. Most assets are transferred to the state after they’ve been inactive for at least five years. Anyone who has a match can submit an online claim form.
