Round Lake rolls to victory

Kristin Pierce struck out 8 batters in 3 hitless innings, and the junior aided a 15-hit attack, as Round Lake’s softball team opened its season with a 19-2 win over host Northtown Academy on Thursday.

Pierce also hit a booming double off the center-field fence. Sophomore Hayley Steinberg and senior Alexis Fernandez (double) combined for 6 hits, 6 runs scored and 6 RBI.
