Banning drivers from phones makes sense

Kudos to state Rep. Deborah Conroy of Elmhurst for her tenacity of voting against using a cellphone and/or texting while driving. Unfortunately some of her constituents favor such habits and voted differently.

Statistics prove that distractions violate common sense and warrant an authorized signature — via the coroner. Cellphones are a technical marvel and should be used as intended — reasons of need. Users need to recognize this, be vigilant and responsible with such modern marvels, not careless.
