Media must publish facts about oil

This is in response to the letter from Donald Froelich in the May 5 Fence Post. Everything he said is true, and I'm sure you already know that.

It's time for the government and our president to say that maybe the environment has to be sacrificed somewhat to free us from dependence on foreign oil. It's hard to believe they know we have more oil than all the Middle East put together, and have done nothing about it.

So maybe it's time that the Daily Herald and other newspapers across the country started publishing these facts and maybe shame our president and government leaders into taking action on this issue. It's time for you to do your part. I don't expect you to publish my letter.

At least publish the facts so the American people can know. Killing Osama bin Laden was the right thing to do. But killing the American economy is wrong.
