Waukegan Library to reopen classroom with ribbon cutting

The Waukegan Public Library will celebrate the grand reopening of its newly renovated Elizabeth Whitlow Computer Classroom with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9.

The classroom renovation includes upgraded technology, an increased number of workstations, and a redesigned layout.

The short program will include remarks from Executive Director Richard Lee and Linda Skaggs, niece of Elizabeth Whitlow, who made a donation of $25,000 from her aunt's estate to the Waukegan Public Library Foundation for this purpose.

Library staff will be available to discuss the improvements to the space and the impact of this gift on the library's learners.

The Waukegan Public Library is at 128 N. County St., Waukegan. Free parking is available to all visitors of Waukegan Public Library at the red brick city parking garage at the intersection of County and Clayton Streets, opposite the library. Bring parking tickets into the library for validation.
