Kane County Community Development Program grant recipients
Kane Co. Community Development Program grant recipients:
Ÿ $250,000 to Community Contacts (Elgin) for its owner-occupied housing rehabilitation and emergency repair program. The program helps homeowners with limited funds rectify code violations, remediate lead-based paint hazards, address substandard living conditions and make emergency repairs.
Ÿ $242,044 to Carpentersville for its 2012 sidewalk project. The program includes street resurfacing, sidewalk replacement and improved disability access along Del Rio Road, Green Lane and Hook Road.
Ÿ $193,625 to Kane County to cover the administrative and planning costs associated with the Community Development Program.
Ÿ $170,000 to North Aurora for roadway improvements to Offutt and Lovedale lanes. The project will improve drainage and add curb, gutter and sidewalks to the west side of Offutt Lane.
Ÿ $100,000 to St. Charles for the phase 1 reconstruction of North 15th Street. The project involves street resurfacing and an upgrade for the storm and sanitary sewer system and fire hydrants on North 15th Street between West Main and Dean streets.
Ÿ $42,400 to Lazarus House (St. Charles) for its emergency homeless shelter and transitional housing program in central Kane County. The money will help cover the shelter’s operating expenses.
Ÿ $33,600 to Hesed House (Aurora) for its PADS overnight emergency shelter and transitional housing program in southern Kane County. The money will help cover the organization’s operating expenses.
Ÿ $30,000 to PADS of Elgin, Inc. for its emergency homeless shelter and transitional housing program in northern Kane County. The money will help cover the organization’s operating expenses.
Ÿ$25,000 to Neighborhood Housing Services of the Fox Valley for homeownership education and individual counseling services. The program helps area homeowners avoid predatory lenders, avoid foreclosure and make good decisions when fixing up a home.
Ÿ $21,800 to the countywide Homeless Management Information System. The system helps keep track of the county’s homeless population and needs.
