Should have helped catering company
To The Sun City Huntley board members:
If I may, I would like to take you back to 2007, when most businesses were flourishing, the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent, Del Webb could not build homes fast enough and Enan Jason's Twelfth Night Catering suggested a very generous lease arrangement with Sun City Huntley. Not only was it beneficial to us, but they offered to change our pool room into a pub at their own cost.
Shortly thereafter the housing market went south because loans were given to people with no money down and in no way could they afford to pay for their mortgages. The effect this downturn in business had on all of us in Sun City Huntley was having our IRA's become somewhat depleted.
When this occurred the Walleye Grill and Pub were hurt badly because the residents stopped dining out. Yet the board members did not offer Twelfth Night Catering any relief by lowering fees.
Other restaurant businesses in the area were offered lower rates, just to keep them from going belly up.
I have two questions: Why was this not done? How could the board members of Sun City vote to close down Twelfth Night Catering after all they have done for this community?
This decision was unconscionable and must be looked at again. Brian Jason and his dad, Victor, are part of the Sun City community; we owe them a second chance, they are like family.
