Buffalo Grove candidates to talk on downtown plan

Save Buffalo Grove, a group of citizens concerned about the development of a downtown Buffalo Grove on 65 acres of the Buffalo Grove Golf Course, is holding a meet the candidates session for village trustee 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in the backroom of the Village Tavern and Grille, 48 Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove. Beverly Sussman, Andy Stein and Les Ottenheimer, the three incumbent trustees, and Jeff Battinus, a write-in candidate, all have agreed to attend the forum. “We would like to hear about the challenges and opportunities they see for Buffalo Grove, hear how they’d handle them, and get their perspectives on the downtown plan,” said Leon Gopon, who is on the group’s Steering Committee for Save Buffalo Grove. Each candidate will have about 20 minutes to talk about themselves, issues, opportunities, challenges, and their perspectives on the downtown plan. There will be time for questions from the audience.
