Oshkosh Corp. opens manufacturing plant in China

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oshkosh Corp. has opened a manufacturing plant in China that will make heavy-duty lift equipment.

The Wisconsin-based company said Monday the facility in Tianjin, China will allow the company to better serve its Asian markets.

The plant will operate under the name JLG Industries Inc., which is one of Oshkosh's brand names. JLG makes lift equipment, including extendable platforms and one-person baskets that allow workers to work as high as 150 feet off the ground.

Oshkosh Corp. builds heavy-duty vehicles such as military trucks and rescue vehicles. It has manufacturing facilities in the U.S., China and eight other countries.

Shares of Oshkosh remained about unchanged in morning trading Monday, at $31.64.
