Domestic reserves could solve oil problems

I just found out that something called the “Green River Formation,” which is on mainly unoccupied government land in portions of Utah, Wyoming and Colorado, contains oil in an amount about equal to the world’s proven oil reserves. Why is this discovery being held hostage by our administration? This discovery alone would lead to energy independence for us in most of our lifetimes. Might even create a job or two. I guess our choice, come November, is for a prosperous future or algae and electric cars that go “boom!”
