St. Catherine school in W. Dundee hosts ‘Run, a Beer and Breakfast’ fundraiser

Join the Irish Jig Jog 5K Race and Pancake Breakfast at St. Catherine of Siena, 845 W. Main St., West Dundee. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a “Run, a Beer and Breakfast”! Run a 5K and drink a beer at St. Catherine of Siena School’s annual 5K race at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 16.
This family friendly event is a CARA certified race. An obstacle course style event will also be held.
Festivities after the race will feature Irish dancing in the school gym, breakfast for all participants and a complimentary beer for runners, age 21 and older. All included in the registration fee. Breakfast and beer also will be available for purchase by those cheering on the runners.
The event will include race shirts for adult runners and swag bags for kids. Prizes will be given to top runners. Registration and event information can be found by visiting irishjigjog.com.
The 5K registration fee for ages 14 and older is $35, or $32 for CARA members. The entry fee includes a race shirt, race packet, breakfast and a beer for ages 21 and older.
The 5K registration fee for ages 13 and younger is $25, or $22 for CARA members. The entry fee includes a swag bag and breakfast.
The 5K registration fee for St. Catherine athletes who participated in the 2012-13 sports season is $20, and includes a swag bag and breakfast.
The fee for the Fun Run Obstacle Course for all ages is $5.
For late registration after Feb. 28, rates for 5K increase by $5 and race shirt will not be guaranteed after that date.
Breakfast and beer can be purchased separately by nonrunners on the day of the race. The breakfast will start at 8:30 a.m.
