Six injured in South Elgin crash
A five vehicle crash in South Elgin sent six people to the hospital early Wednesday evening, police said.
The South Elgin Fire Department called in a box alarm to the scene on the corner of Randall and Silver Glenn Roads because of the need for six ambulances, South Elgin police said.
Police said a vehicle jumped into another lane just before 6 p.m., causing the crash.
Wind did not factor into the accident, police said.
Four people were transported to Sherman Health in Elgin and two were transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. All six were treated for minor injuries, police said.
The accident was cleared at about 6:50 p.m.
