Good teachers deserve good salaries

I have nothing against an athlete who can make millions playing baseball, football or soccer. We all want winners. We don’t mind paying for winners.

Who is the winner when your child comes home from school and proudly reads his first small book to you?

Who is the winner when your teen smiles happily about a good grade in calculus because his teacher took the time to help him understand?

We all like winners — should we then complain about teachers’ salaries?
