We might see some frost in the morning
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for the Chicago area that will go into effect early Wednesday morning as temperatures are expected to dip into the lower 30s overnight.
Forecasters are urging residents to cover vegetation such as fruit trees, sensitive plants and home gardens, which are most at risk of dying.
The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. Wednesday for Kane, DuPage, Cook, DeKalb and Will Counties, according to the weather service.
Clearing skies and slowing winds are expected to cause the frost during the early morning hours.
Areas near the lakefront and downtown Chicago are not expected to be affected.
