Jurors begin deliberations at Trump civil trial
Jurors have withdrawn to begin deliberations about whether Donald Trump cheated an 87-year-old who claims the “Apprentice” star cheated her in property deal.
They withdrew Wednesday afternoon after closing arguments at the civil trial in federal court in Chicago.
The case is focused on a condo deal at Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago. Jacqueline Goldberg alleges Trump wooed her into buying condos by promising her a profit-sharing plan, then reneged on the offer.
Goldberg attorney Shelly Kulwin said in his closing he was repulsed by Trump. Trump attorney Stephen Novack says such personal attacks reveal an absence of evidence. He says Goldberg knew a contract stipulated the profit-sharing could be canceled.
