Scouting Lake Zurich at Lake Forest

Last week: Lake Zurich d. Mundelein, 35-7; Lake Forest d. Vernon Hills, 21-0.

Skinny: Lake Zurich coach Bryan Stortz said RB Jacob Brinlee (945 rushing yds., 11 TDs) will play after sitting out last week's win over Mundelein with an ankle injury. Lake Forest has its own star RB in Owen Williams (924 rushing yds., 18 TDs). The Scouts, who last week became the first team all season to score on Vernon Hills, rotates in two QBs in P.J. Carrolo and Jordan Beck, who have combined to throw for nearly 1,300 yards. Beck has completed an impressive 73 percent of his passes (41 of 56). ... Lake Zurich has yielded an NSC-Lake low 66 points with 3 shutouts. ... Both teams have clinched playoff berths. "It will be a tough game as both teams want to improve their playoff picture," Stortz said. "They are very good offensively and are running a new defensive scheme this year that their players have adapted to quite well. This will be a good test for us."
