Thieves break in to East St. Louis firehouse
EAST ST. LOUIS — Authorities in East St. Louis are investigating a burglary of a fire house that is being renovated.
According to KSDK-TV, Fire Chief Jason Blackmon says someone broke a window and apparently climbed in and made off with television sets, DVD players and some of the firefighters' personal belongings. Blackmon says that a computer used for filing reports was also taken.
The chief says the theft that occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning is particularly disappointing because the firefighters' job is to protect people.
