Rollover backs up I-94 traffic near Gurnee
A semitrailer rolled over as the driver was merging onto I-94 near Gurnee late Thursday afternoon, causing major traffic delays, according to police.
The driver of the semi was traveling too fast down the Route 120 on ramp onto eastbound I-94, causing the semi’s load to shift and the truck to overturn, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Julio Serrano.
The semi overturned in the far right lane just past the ramp at about 4:11 p.m., which blocked the lane for approximately 90 minutes, Serrano said.
Police said the driver was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for a minor arm injury.
