Free chemical waste collection Monday in Gurnee

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County will host an appointment only household chemical waste collection Monday at its facility, 1311 N. Estes St., Gurnee.

The event is for residential waste only and business waste will not be accepted. It is free for Illinois residents only.

Accepted items include CFL bulbs, unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints (no latex) and varnishes, as well as other household chemicals.
