East Dundee art show will feature 20 senior artists
A group of artists will move their work from the walls of the Dundee Township Senior Center to a space just a couple of doors away for one day only.
The Tuesday Morning Oil Painters will hold an art show from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at the Village Green, 605 Barrington Ave., East Dundee.
Don't let the group's name fool you. The 20 or so artists that participate in the weekly class led by Debbie Weaver, use media ranging from colored pencils to decorative arts.
Weaver said most of the participants will display their work, and there will be a variety of pieces for sale.
"The Tuesday Morning Oil Painters would love to show the public the beautiful artwork that we have to offer to people of all ages," said Weaver, who is a volunteer art instructor at the Dundee Township Senior Center. "From children to teens, adults and seniors, one is never too young or too old to enjoy art."
Weaver said the artists will be on hand to discuss their work and light refreshments will be provided.
The Lowery Music School of West Dundee will provide musical entertainment for artists and visitors.
The Tuesday morning group will hit the road for a summer art show in July at the Garlands of Barrington, as well as an annual fall art show slated for Oct. 16 and 17, Weaver said.
