Cougars’ offense heating up
After not scoring more than 5 runs in a game for 16 straight games, the Kane County Cougars have done it in consecutive games.They used home runs from Yowill Espinal and Alex Llanos and another quality start from Leondy Perez to cruise past the Beloit Snappers 8-2 on Wednesday night at Elfstrom Stadium.The Cougars#146; victory snapped a five-series losing streak and gives the Cougars a chance to earn their first sweep of the year Thursday.Kane County broke the game open with a 6-run second inning. Geulin Beltre drove in Julio Aparicio with a single, Lane Adams scored on a throwing error, Espinal nailed a 3-run homer and Gerard Hall belted a run-scoring triple to make it 6-0.Llanos smashed a 2-run homer in the fourth to make it 8-0. The Cougars knocked out 11 hits.Perez (1-4) delivered his third straight quality start and the team#146;s eighth in the last 13 games. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits, walked one and fanned seven.
