Saverino for Carol Stream village president

Carol Stream is a well-run village beset by some of the same economic problems all towns face these days but also dealing with challenges all its own. For one, it’s navigating the choppy seas of the current economy without benefit of a property tax, and all candidates for local public office want dearly to avoid implementing that tax. And, with some parts of town prone to flood with every heavy rain, the village also has suffered flooding disasters at least twice in the past three years.

Rick Gieser, a two-term trustee now vying for village president, is committed to fighting a property tax, and, in addition to some practical suggestions for fighting flooding, he especially wants to improve electronic communications with the village to help deal more effectively with disasters when they occur.

But incumbent Frank Saverino, looking for his second term, shares these commitments, plus he has years of hands-on experience and political connections to count on in building solutions. Saverino is an energetic, dedicated village president, eager for the chance to take on the challenges of the next four years.

Both candidates are knowledgeable and experienced in village issues, but Saverino shows the depth and refinement that will best help Carol Stream in the next term. He is endorsed.
