If yes, please explain: DUI 1986. Charges where dismissedCandidate's Key Issues Key Issue 1 I concern about the budget. The board is wasting tax payer's money, with two many village projects with building a New village hall with a new public works building and a new state of art Fire station all in the last three years it is time to stop spending money on village Projects and raising our tax's for it.Key Issue 2 To clean up our town, help get rid of Vacant homes in wheeling and Get rid of all the slum lords that are running complexes in this town. The village needs more inspections done.Key Issue 3 I believe that gangs are a vary big problem in this village. Village needs to stand by their union contact they made with police and hire the five police officer's we are short of to protect the citizens of wheeling and to feel safe in their homes.Questions Answers What should be the relationship between the village and businesses? Should the village encourage busineses to move to town and if so how? What types of support should the village give new or existing businesses?I don't think a business should come to town with no resource at their disposal, We should help them with all resource's we can to make their business a success in wheeling. Yes of course. Tax incentives, Tax Breaks about 5 years no long term breaks. But it also depends on the type of business it is when giving out tax breaks to it. I would also like to see a commercial water rate giving to business.Do you agree with how the village has spent its TIF dollars? How would you spend them going forward?I want TIF dollars to be spread out to all businesses that need help. Not just spend it all on one business. I think the village is spending too much money Beautifying just the east side of town and noting on the west side of town. We need to even this out with the two sides of our town. What are other issues facing Wheeling? Does Wheeling put too much emphasis on economic development and not enough on issues such as public safety? How would you rate quality of life for Wheeling residents?Right now wheeling dose not have the right people in the right places. We do not have inspectors writing citations for violations for housings, police are needed to address gang problems we need more officers for our gang unit. These are my priorities. You cannot bring new businesses to town and still have these issues. Wheeling has to put more on public safety for example speeding and running stop signs in school zones. Fair to good its not perfect here there are lot's of safety concerns we should be able to walk down the street with out worrying about being robbed here.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of Wheeling's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Restaurants shouldn't be hit with extra taxes the extra % on prepared food makes it harder for restaurants to survive in this town then in other towns. By lowering restaurants taxes would bring more business to restaurants and more business to wheeling. Sales tax is about right, when you look at cook county taking their share they taking more from you. What are the village's biggest public safety concerns? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.slums and gangs I've discussed this above already.
