If yes, please explain: No.Candidate's Key Issues Key Issue 1 Economic Development- Maintain and strengthen the Village's diverse tax base through the attraction, retention and expansion of businesses in the Village of Itasca.Key Issue 2 Elgin O'Hare Tollway- Continuing our involvement and management of the Elgin O'Hare Tollway Project will help to protect the future interests of the Village of Itasca and maximize the potential for development opportunities.Key Issue 3 O'Hare Noise and Compatibility Commission- This is a real time issue with the expansion of O'Hare International Airport. It is vital that the Village of Itasca has a strong voice in this matter while working with the ONCC Technical Committee to reduce the effects of aircraft noise in our community.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?The Trustee position requires great care, dedication, and considerable skill in management with limited resources. I offer my experience and continued interest in developing a long range plan to improve and maintain the economic development and stability of Itasca. As a current trustee I have tried my best to represent my constituents. As a candidate for trustee my goal is to continue in my efforts for the residents of Itasca. I believe in a transparent government that works in the best interest of the people it represents.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The present level of local sales taxes in our community seems balanced for these economic times. I am committed to exploring other options to create alternative revenue streams and diversify their sources so that we can afford the quality of life we currently enjoy.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.Public safety needs to be maintained. Communities will not thrive in unsafe enviroments and businesses will not relocate to areas they perceive to be unsafe. We will continue programs currently in place for a safe and walkable community.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?If required, the current budget could be trimmed by delaying capital improvements. The biggest budgeting challenge is to maintain the quality of village services while operating with fewer personnel.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Shared resources and services with surrounding communities.
