Two named to state panels

The Rev. Denver Bitner and the Rev. Daniel Schwick, both of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, were named to state commissions recently.

Bitner, president of LSSI, was named to the Illinois Human Services Commission by Gov. Pat Quinn. Schwick, director of church and government relations, was named to serve on the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Poverty.

LSSI, based in Des Plaines, is a major provider of social services throughout the state.
