Genevabull; A Mongoose M350 black scooter was stolen out of a yard in the 100 block of North Harrison Street between midnight and 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. It had been locked with a cable to other items.bull; Thirty wood pallets were stolen from a fenced enclosure in back of PetSmart, 1512 S. Randall Road, between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and 6 a.m. Aug. 21. The thieves broke wood boards off a gate to get in, police said.bull; Three hundred dollars was stolen out of a woman's wallet between 4 and 5 a.m. Tuesday at Preservation Cafe and Wine Bar, 513 S. Third St., police said. The wallet was in the woman's purse, which she left on top of the bar while she was working. Around 4:45 p.m. she propped open a rear door to take out trash. The wallet was found behind a garbage can in the restroom.bull; A Hewlett-Packard laptop computer, an iPod Nano, sunglasses and a pair of shoes were stolen out of a vehicle in the 100 block of North Fifth Street between 11 p.m. Aug. 15 and 9 a.m. Aug. 16, police said. The burglar peeled a rubber strip around a window to access a door lock.bull; A commuter parking permit was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Aug. 5 in the city lot at 500 S. Third St., police said.bull; Someone stole $30 from a one-gallon can in a yard in the 100 block of North Bennett Street, between 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. The resident had the can out to solicit donations of money to help pay for the care of a turtle.Kane Countybull; A hit-and-run accident reported at 12:56 p.m. Wednesday caused about $2,000 in damage to two Maple trees at Midwest Groundcovers, 48W801 Route 64, near Maple Park, according to a police report. Witnesses told police they saw a blue or black car flee the scene westbound at a "high rate of speed" after crashing into two trees, one of which was knocked over. At the scene, police found broken glass, several beer cans, a tackle box with a name on it, a boot, a glove and a tire jack among the debris from the trees. The crash is under investigation.
