Dist. 25 names new board member
A Carol Stream resident who is an immigration attorney and a full-time, at-home dad has been named to the Benjamin Elementary District 25 school board.
Gregg Lemkau has served as a classroom volunteer - working with art awareness and Junior Achievement programs, and as a hallway helper - and as a trustee of the District 25 Foundation for Educational Excellence.
He said he thrives "on the sense of community experienced when teachers, volunteers and parents work together for a greater cause - our kids."
Lemkau fills the vacancy left by board member Ellen Zenker's resignation last month for personal reasons. The term ends in April 2011. Lemkau and his wife, Stephanie, have three children in District 25 schools.
